Mayo Shattuck: Leading a Fortune 125 Company

One needs to have tremendous energy to succeed in the power generation and distribution business. Mayo Shattuck, President and CEO of Constellation Energy Group (CEG), has evidently applied enough of it to propel CEG into becoming a Fortune 125 Company, leading the list of businesses belonging to the energy sector. CEG posted sky-high revenues worth $19.8 billion with growth at a 1.2% annual rate. At present, CEG is the nation’s largest wholesale supplier, provider and distributor of electricity. It owns large energy subsidiaries including Constellation NewEnergy, a top supplier of electricity, natural gas and energy-related services across North America as well as the management of fuels and energy services through Maryland-based regulated utility Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE).

Mayo Shattuck has proven to possess the skill and entrepreneurial expertise required of running the multibillion dollar energy company. A man with seasoned experience in banking and finance, Shattuck previously worked as Chairman for Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown before he joined CEG. At Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown, he served as the firm’s Global Head of Investment Banking and Private Banking and until 1997, was chief operating officer before the company’s merger with Bankers Trust. Mayo Shattuck was also former Vice Chairman of Bankers Trust Corporation until 1999.
